Profits and Costs

It's a very stressful time for a lot of people. Maybe for you, maybe for your clients. Either way, increasing your prices is never going to be a great look - but there are other ways to protect your profits.

If you can't increase your prices, you need to look at reducing your costs. That could be in the form of getting your diary out and planning your next week well ahead of time. Dont wait until the day before a treatment to figure out you need cartridges - then pay over the odds for next day shipping. Dont travel to a salon that's miles away just to do a retouch. Make sure you push for a paying client on the same column. Even little things like being careful where you park can make a difference over time. At Dermace, the car park next to the office is 70p an hour, so 8 hours is £5.60. If I walk 10 minutes to the outskirts of town it's £2 for the whole day. Ok, that's only a £3.60 saving, BUT, what if I told you that it equates to a £72 a month saving? I could buy 50 universal cartridges for that! £864 a year saving, just for parking a little further from the office. That 10 minutes allows me to plan, clear my head, and start to build my ToDo list for the day.

Do you need that Starbucks? Really?

As my father used to tell me: Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
